Fernhill palace was once the summer residence of the Maharajah of Mysore and still remains the property of the royal family of Mysore,a city in Karnataka,south India. The first building was built on 50 acres of land in 1844 AD by captain F cotton who was with the engineers regiment in Madras(Renamed chennai now) ,later it was bought by the Maharajah(ruler) of Mysore and improved
